Characteristics of the project:
Passenger and freight international airport «Kaluga» creation on the basis of the airport «Grabtsevo» is one of the most ambitious Industrial Logistics (LLC) projects. This is caused by the interest of business in freight and passenger avia transportations and delivery of goods to Kaluga and automotive enterprises’ concentration on the territory of Kaluga Region, which are the potential clients for automotive parts’ and electronic parts for cars’ assembly.
Speed as the main avia transportation advantage and convenient logistic scheme are made an accent on in course of the project’s realization. This will give an opportunity to make Kaluga Region more attractive for investments.
«Grabtsevo» Reconstruction project realization comprises the following stages:
- Airport certification and filing in the register of airports of civil aviation (2010).
- Airport infrastructure creation, modernization and reconstruction of existing objects, construction of new objects (2011).
- International airport creation (2012).
Participants of the project: people and enterprises of Kaluga Region, in perspective – of Russia and worldwide, industrial parks’ residents.
Current status
28.05.2010 International Airport «Kaluga» (OJSC) was established. Presently project feasibility study is in progress.
