«Dry port» in the industrial park «Vorsino»

Purpose of the project:

Rendering logistic services to the residents of the industrial parks, rendering distributing center services in the network of transit transportation by Russian and foreign companies via Central Federal District.

Characteristics:

Transport and logistic center («Dry port») in the industrial park «Vorsino» is a strategic object for Kaluga Region. Such type of the logistic object has some obvious advantages. «Dry port» will provide transshipment of large cargo volumes from railway to motor transport, will make cheap and long-term storage possible, and will favor high-speed freight handling. Construction of this object will give a possibility to satisfy all the cargo management needs of Kaluga Region and to concentrate large cargo traffic in the framework of distributing the cargoes to Moscow Region. It will also stand for a distributing center for East-West and West-East transit via Moscow. No doubt that its geographical position (70 km from Moscow, 90 km from Kaluga next to M3 «Ukraine» highway and railway line «Moscow-Kiev») is another advantage of the «Dry port».

The strategy of transport and logistic infrastructure development of the Northern part of Kaluga Region is worked out in the network of this project. Relying on the research industrial park «Vorsino» was acknowledged strategic logistic object on the level of the Government of the Russian Federation. «Russian Railways» is studying the possibility of investing in this object.
